Wheelchair Distribution & Scholarship Support
Mobility, dignity, and education for children of special parents.
With the support of Niaz Support, AKWS has distributed over 1,000 wheelchairs across Upper and Lower Chitral and is implementing a unique scholarship and health support programme for school-going children of parents with disabilities. 22 students are currently enrolled, receiving support to continue their education and build a brighter future.
In the 2024–2025 reporting period alone, 530 customised wheelchairs reached persons with disabilities from Asherait to Yarkhoon Lasht, covering almost every valley in Upper Chitral except Laspur — bringing comfort, independence, and renewed hope to some of the most remote communities.
